On Saturday, June 18, the Optimist Club of Carlsbad welcomed Marcia Emerick with the North County Junior Golf Association (NCJGA) and student golfer Avery Schmidt, who attends La Costa Canyon High School. Both of them provided their perspectives on how this non-profit organization helps youth ages 10 – 18 years excel through learning competitive golf skills. North County Junior Golf Association was founded in 1998 by Dave and Marcia Emerick to help teach the game of golf to local youth and help them reach the Junior World Golf Championship in San Diego. The Optimist Club of Carlsbad also donated $200 to NCJGA’s efforts. For more information about NCJGA, visit www.ncjga.com.
